This intermediate life support (ILS) course is for healthcare professionals who have a responsibility to participate as part of a resuscitation team if the need arises. The course includes the recognition and management of a deteriorating patient (including anaphylaxis) with the aim to prevent cardiorespiratory arrest. It also includes management of a cardiac arrest within a team, the use of an AED and basic airway manoeuvres.
It has been designed around guidelines from the Resuscitation Council (UK), NICE, the Royal College of Physicians as well as the clinical experience of ECG trainers.
