Spare EpiPens for Emergency Use
Under the Human Medicines (Amendment) Regulations 2017, schools and colleges can purchase spare EpiPens to keep on-site as emergency back-up. The Department of Health recommends:
- Children under 6 years: EpiPen 150mcg
- Children over 6 years: EpiPen 300mcg
Schools should keep a minimum of 2 devices per dose for the relevant ages on-site at all times.

How to Order
Our on-site Pharmacy can supply EpiPen adrenaline auto-injectors as spare, back-up devices for use in your school or college, in line with the manufacturer’s instructions, for the emergency treatment of anaphylaxis.
This is provided for under the Human Medicines (Amendment) Regulations 2017, which allows schools to purchase “spare” back-up adrenaline auto-injectors for the emergency treatment of anaphylaxis. Further information can be found at www.sparepensinschools.uk.
