Dental Immediate Life Support (DILS)

This course is for registered dental professionals who undertake conscious sedation as part of their role. This Immediate Life Support course (covering both adults and paediatrics) is designed to meet the core competencies set by the Standards for Conscious Sedation in the Provision of Dental Care. The course includes the recognition and management of the deteriorating patient including anaphylaxis, management of a cardiac arrest within a team, the use of an AED and the use of airway adjuncts including the use of positive pressure ventilation.

This course has been designed around the guidelines from the Resuscitation Council (UK), NICE, the Royal College of Physicians, the Standards for Conscious Sedation in the Provision of Dental Care and the clinical experience of ECG trainers.
